Miele Gallery Dinner

A 6-course menu and the art of eating smart

It was all about the art of eating smart. About the outward impressions that unconsciously influence our senses. How does the size of the waiter's stomach influence what we order? Why should we sit with our backs to the buffet, and what makes a menu's appearance so important?

Berlin-based chef and food blogger Steffen Sinzinger, together with pastry chef Benjamin Donath, appeared at the Miele Gallery to demonstrate what makes for a multi-sensual dinner. Things that are meant to stand out need to have their own individual appearance - and that applies to the dinner table as well. Working with Party Rent Berlin’s Ulrich Stadfeld, Sinzinger configured a setting composed of bisque porcelain manufactured by Hering Berlin, beguiling in its velvety feel and delicate appearance. "I like the mix of all three Hering Berlin's porcelain series: Velvet, Puls, and Cielo. During the Miele Gallery dinner, the appetizer was served, for example, on a large gourmet plate from the Velvet series, while the dessert was served on the Cielo," Stadfeld explained.
